At Givaudan, we conduct our business according to high integrity standards.
This includes upholding and demanding strong integrity principles in our relationships with customers, suppliers, shareholders, employees, competitors, government agencies and the communities in which we are present.
Compliance programme
Our Compliance programme is based on the concept of ‘prevent-detect-respond’. It encompasses key areas such as the Principles of Conduct, anti-bribery and anti-corruption measures, and conflict of interest management. Oversight of the programme is managed by the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, supported by the Compliance Committees composed of different Executive Committee members, a network of company managers, local compliance officers, and regional company management coordinators.
Group-wide compliance helpline
We have a Group-wide compliance helpline which allows employees and third parties to report suspected or actual misconduct or violations of the Company’s policies on a confidential basis and without fear of retaliation. The helpline consists of a web intake and telephone reporting option. Reports can be made anonymously, and we handle all issues confidentially. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against anyone who seeks advice or reports misconduct in good faith. The helpline is serviced by a third party provider and is available at all sites worldwide 24/7 and in all major languages spoken at the Company.
Vetting third party agents
To further support our compliance efforts, we vet third party agents and distributors through a process that includes a compliance due diligence review and requirements for contracts and payments. Dedicated corporate functions oversee and manage specific areas of functional compliance risk.
Responsible artificial intelligence
In 2025, we introduced an AI Ethics Policy, a formalisation in our commitment to the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence within our organisation. This policy has been thoughtfully developed to ensure that AI supports our work in a manner consistent with the guiding principles accountability, transparency, compliance, fairness, privacy, safety, and a human-centric approach.

Data protection and privacy
We apply rigorous standards in data protection and privacy through our Givaudan Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy, which is based on European data protection laws, particularly the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy sets a Group-wide minimum standard for processing personal data. Implementation of the programme is overseen by our Group Data Protection Officer.
Evolving regulations worldwide
We stay ahead of evolving regulations worldwide through the expertise of our teams – from scientists and toxicologists to regulatory specialists – who help our customers navigate complex regulatory landscapes. We go beyond compliance, actively participating in industry organisations and contributing to regulatory advocacy. Our work spans regulatory affairs, product stewardship, toxicology, product and environmental safety, data and systems management, compliance communication and information services.
Financial transparency
We embrace corporate transparency through our adherence to the EU Public Country-by-Country Reporting (PCBCR) Directive. Designed to further promote public communication, this report discloses key financial and tax-related information – such as revenues, profits earned, and income taxes paid – broken down by individual tax jurisdiction. In the EU this reporting applies to fiscal years beginning on or after 22 June 2024, ensuring our global stakeholders receive a clear, accountable overview of how our economic contributions align with local economies. This public report reinforces our commitment to responsible tax governance and sustainable corporate citizenship.
Global trade compliance
Our global trade compliance function ensures that our processes, technologies, and people understand and comply with international trade laws. More than just meeting legal requirements, we develop solutions to reduce operational delays at customs and leverage financial opportunities, with proper controls in place to validate decisions and risks related to the international movement of goods.
Health and safety
Health and safety are integral to our responsibility as an employer. We promote safe and secure working environments, aiming to reduce incidents through proactive safety behaviour and workplace improvements. These efforts are aligned with our EHS Policy and further reinforced by our commitment to the Responsible Care Global Charter, ensuring that suppliers also uphold EHS, social, and integrity standards.
Tax strategy
Finally, our tax strategy is rooted in sustainability and compliance. Fully aligned with our business structure and governance, the strategy ensures respect for both international and domestic tax obligations. This long-term approach is detailed in our Tax Policy and supports the Group’s objectives through a robust and transparent operating model.
