Givaudan continues to establish direct presence at the source of patchouli oil production
Givaudan continues the deployment of strategic initiatives to secure the long term availability and protection of quality natural ingredients used for perfumery. Givaudan announces the establishment of a collection network on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi in addition to the exclusive farming partnership agreement with GaiaOne and Kebun Rimau SDN BHD in Borneo announced in January 2014.

Nine months sales 2014: Sustained volume growth in all markets
In the first nine months of 2014 Givaudan recorded sales of CHF 3,313 million, an increase of 4.5% on a like-for-like basis and a decline of 0.2% in Swiss francs compared to the previous year. Givaudan continues to demonstrate strong business momentum with a full project pipeline and win rates sustained at a high level.

Givaudan appoints Maurizio Volpi to Head of Fragrances
Givaudan, the world leader in flavours and fragrances, announced today the appointment of Maurizio Volpi as Head of Fragrances replacing Michael Carlos, who will retire on 31 December 2014. Maurizio Volpi, currently Regional Head of Western and Eastern Europe (WEE) for the Consumer Products business, will work closely with Michael Carlos to ensure a smooth transition of activities until the end of the year.

The Givaudan Foundation has been founded in Geneva as an independent non-profit organisation. It will initiate and support projects, as well as grant donations, in the areas of humanitarian action, health, nutrition, science, education, development, environment and sustainable development.

Givaudan completes the acquisition of Soliance
Givaudan announced today that it has acquired 100% of the shares of Soliance SA and its subsidiaries. Soliance provides innovative cosmetic solutions to its international clients and partners and develops high added-value active ingredients, derived from vegetable sources, microorganisms and microalgae. Soliance currently has two sites in France, located in Pomacle and Ile Grande, and employs 96 people.

First quarter sales 2014: Strong like-for-like growth, developing markets growing by 9.8%
In the first three months of 2014 Givaudan recorded sales of CHF 1,087 million, an increase of 5.7% on a like-for-like basis, and a decline of 0.2% in Swiss francs compared to the previous year.

The Annual General Meeting of Givaudan SA, the world leader in flavours and fragrances, took place on 20 March 2014. It was attended by 338 shareholders or proxies, representing 4,103,381 shares (44.44% of a total of 9,233,586 registered shares).

Givaudan’s KeratinoSens™ assay sets standard for skin sensitisation testing
In a statement published on 17 February 2014, EURL ECVAM confirms that Givaudan’s KeratinoSens™ method is transferable and reproducible within and between laboratories. The recommendation attests that KeratinoSens™, developed by Dr Andreas Natsch, Head of in vitro Toxicology Research, and his team, can be considered as a valuable component of integrated approaches for skin sensitisation testing.
