Givaudan achieves industry-first dual certification for its Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) programme

Currently covering more than 90,000 products in Company’s portfolio

Givaudan today announced that its Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) programme has been certified by TÜV SÜD as compliant with the Together for Sustainability (TfS) PCF Verification and Programme Certification Framework and in alignment with the WBCSD Partnership for Carbon Transparency (PACT). The programme is the first in the flavours and fragrances industry to achieve this combined independent recognition.

This certification recognises the strength of Givaudan’s PCF programme, reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing customers with transparent, consistent and actionable carbon footprint data across its portfolio. The programme represents an important milestone in enabling Givaudan to measure, track and reduce product carbon footprints at scale while supporting the Company’s ambition to reach net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by 2045.

“This dual certification marks an important milestone on our journey to net zero and reinforces the deep interdependency and connection between our own sustainability journey and those of our customers. Transparency and collaboration are the foundation of meaningful climate action, and our PCF programme allows us to deliver robust and consistent data to our customers, enabling us to directly support their own goals and ambitions at the same time as delivering concrete, meaningful progress on our own. It is through this kind of collaboration that we can help catalyse real shared business value and drive even greater transparency as we work together to deliver sustainable growth.”

Christian Stammkoetter, CEO

A Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) measures the greenhouse gas emissions associated with a product. Through its PCF programme, Givaudan assesses emissions for each product from cradle to factory gate, providing robust, science-based data that supports greater transparency and helps identify opportunities to reduce emissions across value chains.

Givaudan’s certified PCF programme currently covers more than 90,000 products across the Company’s portfolio. The programme enables the exchange of standardised carbon footprint data aligned with recognised industry methodologies, helping customers integrate emissions data more effectively into their reporting and decision-making processes.

TÜV SÜD is a leading global provider of testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services. WBCSD PACT is a global initiative hosted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to standardise how companies calculate, share, and use product carbon data. Together for Sustainability (TfS) is a global, procurement-driven initiative created by chemical companies with the goal of assessing, auditing and improving the sustainability practices within their global supply chains.

This independent recognition further strengthens Givaudan’s ability to support customers in achieving their own sustainability goals while contributing to the global transition towards a more resilient, low-carbon economy.

Givaudan’s net-zero targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative in January 2025, and the Company continues to implement its Net-Zero Transition Plan outlining the roadmap towards these objectives. In January 2026, Givaudan was recognised with its seventh consecutive CDP A for climate action and in May the Company received a CDP A for supplier climate action.
