Givaudan donates CHF 50,000 to support flood-hit communities in Nepal

Donation to support Action Against Hunger relief operations

Givaudan has announced a donation of CHF 50,000 to Action Against Hunger to support ongoing relief and recovery efforts for communities in Nepal impacted by the recent floods.

The announcement follows the devastating events of 26 August 2026, when flash floods – believed to be caused by the collapse of a glacier – struck Nepal's Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Tanahun Districts along the Nepal-Tibet border, sweeping away homes, roads and bridges and cutting off entire communities.

The donation has been made through the Givaudan Humanitarian Fund, established in 2024 to provide financial support during major crises like natural disasters in areas where the Company is present. The support provided through the donation will focus on the most severely affected and vulnerable people in the municipalities of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts through food assistance, water and sanitation services, emergency shelter support, mobile health and nutrition services, mental health and psychosocial support, and community-based disaster response strengthening.

“The scale of destruction caused by the floods in Nepal is devastating, with communities across the region continuing to face immense challenges in the aftermath of this tragedy. Our thoughts are with all those affected, as well as with the relief teams and local organisations responding on the ground. Through this donation, we hope to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing needs of impacted communities and to the recovery journey ahead.”

Simon Halle‑Smith, Chief Human Resources and EH&S Officer

According to the preliminary situation report published by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the humanitarian impact continues to deepen, with widespread displacement, extensive infrastructure damage, and significant recovery needs across affected districts. Reported fatalities have risen to over 1,450, with more than 5,280 people still missing. The floods swept away homes, roads and bridges, cutting off entire communities and causing widespread destruction across the affected districts.

Givaudan’s Humanitarian Fund builds on a legacy of donation and is aligned to Givaudan’s ambition to improve the lives of millions of people in the communities where the Company sources and operates by 2030. Since its inception in 2024, the fund has provided a total of CHF 800,000 to support communities around the world dealing with the impacts of disasters such as earthquakes, cyclones and flooding.
