Givaudan joins Together for Sustainability (TfS)

New membership will accelerate supply chain sustainability and support Givaudan’s approach to sourcing responsibly

Givaudan has joined Together for Sustainability (TfS); a global sector supply chain initiative. Givaudan joins the organisation’s 30 existing members who include BASF, Henkel, and Sanofi.

TfS, which was founded in 2011, delivers a global programme to assess, audit and improve supply chain sustainability practices. It is based on the UN Global Compact and Responsible Care® principles.

The programme allows member companies to assess the environmental, labour & human rights, ethical and sustainable procurement performance of their suppliers, gathering insights which drive and deliver measurable improvements of their suppliers’ as well as their own sustainability performance.

TfS works in close partnership with EcoVadis to carry out its assessments. To be eligible for membership, an organisation must have a minimum EcoVadis score of 60/100. In its 2020 rating, Givaudan scored 75/100; putting it into the platinum category, EcoVadis’ highest accolade.

Givaudan’s membership of TfS follows the launch of its new Sourcing4Good programme, introduced in April 2021. The programme is closely tied to the Company’s purpose goal to source all ingredients and materials in a way that protects people and the planet by 2030. It applies to all of Givaudan’s suppliers and to its full portfolio including naturals, synthetics and indirect materials and services (IM&S).

“We’re proud to join the TfS community. Collaboration is essential in delivering on our bold ambitions and a transparent dialogue with our suppliers is vital to ensuring the long-term sustainability of our supply chain. As we take the next step in our responsible sourcing journey with the launch of our new Sourcing4Good programme, the additional knowledge and insight our TfS membership will bring will be invaluable in helping ensure we can continue to accelerate our progress as we grow together with our customers and suppliers.”

Willem Mutsaerts, Global Head of Procurement and Sustainability

Bertrand Conquéret, President Global Supply Chain & Corporate Senior Vice President Purchasing Henkel, President Together for Sustainability, comments:
