Gilles Andrier spent the first part of his career with Accenture in management consulting before joining Givaudan in 1993 as Fragrance Division Controller and Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. He later held various positions including Head of Fragrance Operations in the USA and Head of Consumer Products in Europe.
He was appointed Head of Fine Fragrances, Europe in 2001 before becoming Global Head of Fine Fragrances in 2003 and then CEO of Givaudan in 2005.
In March 2026, he retired from his position as Chief Executive Officer, after a distinguished career of over 30 years of service and 21 years leading the Company as CEO.
Under his leadership, Givaudan has experienced significant growth driven by a successful strategy focused on geographic, customer and portfolio expansion, complemented by over 20 strategic acquisitions. Between 2005 and the end of 2025, the Company grew from 5,900 to over 17,500 employees, sales almost tripled from CHF 2.7 billion to over CHF 7.5 billion, and market capitalisation rose five-fold from CHF 5.8 billion to CHF 29 billion. Over this period, he has firmly established Givaudan as a global leader in Fragrance & Beauty as well as Taste & Wellbeing.

Gilles Andrier graduated with two Masters in Engineering from ENSEEIH Toulouse.
