Towards net-zero by 2045:
our new net-zero transition plan
In November 2025 we launched our net-zero transition plan, following the announcement in January 2025 of our ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our entire value chain by 2045.
Our new net-zero transition plan outlines the concrete actions guiding us towards this ambition. The plan is built on science, collaboration, and accountability.
“The climate emergency presents one of the greatest global challenges of our time – and one of the greatest opportunities to work together and make a lasting, positive difference.”
Willem Mutsaerts, Head of Global Procurement and Sustainability
The steps we are taking
Science based action
Our targets are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and aligned with the 1.5°C pathway. We’re reducing emissions at every stage of our operations and supply chain, and we’ll address any remaining emissions through verified carbon removal and high quality offset solutions.
Reducing land based emissions
Many of our ingredients come from nature, so managing forest, land and agriculture (FLAG) emissions is essential. We’re reinforcing deforestation and conversion free (DCF) sourcing and supporting regenerative agricultural practices that protect biodiversity and soil health.
Building climate resilience
We’re preparing our people, sites, and suppliers for the impacts of a changing climate.
This includes improving site resilience, collaborating with partners on sustainable practices, and embedding climate risk into business decisions.
Driving progress through collaboration
Achieving net zero depends on shared effort. We’re partnering across our value chain, from suppliers to customers, to develop low carbon ingredients and sustainable formulations, while contributing to wider industry and regulatory progress.
