Power On:
Insights from Climate Week 2025

One of the world’s largest annual gatherings focused on climate solutions was held late September 2025.
Three Givaudan colleagues representing different parts of our sustainability and climate action journey were in New York City for Climate Week NYC. This year’s theme, ‘Power On’, was a clear rallying cry: to galvanise renewed action on climate, accelerate progress and inspire systemic change.

From a week of conversations, workshops and high-level meetings, we’ve brought back three powerful takeaways – insights that matter no matter the role you play in our climate journey.
Collaboration matters
Michelle McCabe, Head of Sustainability for Fragrance & Beauty
Our biggest learning was the immense power of the collective in driving climate action. Progress happens faster when we connect and share – with our customers, our partners, and each other.
“This week I met with so many of our customers – it was amazing to see the collaboration come to life. One key takeaway for me is that collaboration is going to continue to be essential to win with sustainability in mind.”

The digital evolution will power up progress
Sandra Girgis, Global Head of Environmental Sustainability
To meet climate goals, accelerating progress is non‑negotiable. Digital innovation, especially in areas like AI, offers real opportunities to scale up what we do.
“I feel energised from the week, one of the key takeaways I take is the role of AI in sustainability. We’ve advanced on our digital sustainability journey, and AI will help us scale up the progress we have made.”
Sandra Girgis, Global Head of Environmental Sustainability

We can be proud of our progress
Hallvard Bremnes, Global Head of Sustainability

While Climate Week was a call to do more, it was also a moment to take stock of how far we’ve come. Exchanging ideas with partners, colleagues and customers reminded us that our work is recognised and valued and provided inspiration and ideas to tackle the challenges ahead.
“I’m proud of the progress we’re making in Givaudan. This progress was recognised during the week by others including key partners like the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) where we took part in inspiring discussions and forums, sharing insights and best practices and gaining many in return.”
Hallvard Bremnes, Global Head of Sustainability
