Givaudan launches Z-biome™, the first microbiome-centered fragrance technologies

Givaudan is proud to launch the Z-biome™ Platform, the first microbiome-centred fragrance technologies in the industry. As more and more people believe that wellbeing is connected to the health of the skin, scientists and perfumers have created two innovative technologies, My Z-biome™ and Z-biome™ Deo, to ensure consumers can choose not only beautiful scents, but also microbiome-friendly fragrances across a range of personal care products and body deodorants.

Givaudan introduces the first fragrance technologies to address the skin microbiome following consumer desires to protect their skin’s microbiome. My Z-biome™ is a fragrance design tool that allows Givaudan perfumers to craft microbiome-friendly fragrances that take special consideration of the skin’s microflora. The Z-biome™ Deo technology is specifically for personal hygiene and allows the creation of microbiome-friendly and deo-effective fragrances. Z-biome™ Deo is based on more than 30 years of expertise in malodour counteraction research to effectively combat sweat malodour while respecting the natural perspiration process.

The new fragrance technologies are the result of extensive testing of raw perfumery ingredients for their impact on the skin’s most common bacteria population, paired with the expertise of our skilled team of perfumers. The Z-biome™ Platform will help customers create products that take care of the skin and work in harmony with the skin’s natural microbiome.
