Givaudan donates CHF 100,000 to support earthquake-affected communities in Venezuela

Donation to support Save the Children's local relief operations

Givaudan has announced a donation of CHF 100,000 to support communities in Venezuela impacted by the recent earthquakes. The donation follows the devastating events of 24 June 2026, when two powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela within seconds of each other. The earthquakes caused extensive structural damage and triggered a continuing series of aftershocks.

The donation, made through the Givaudan Humanitarian Fund, which provides financial support during major crises like natural disasters in areas where the Company is present, will be channelled through Save the Children, to support local relief operations via local partners. This support will help provide safe drinking water, food assistance and early recovery aid for the most affected families in northern Venezuela.

“These catastrophic events in Venezuela have devastated so many communities, and we stand in solidarity with all those impacted as well as those who continue to assist in the relief and recovery efforts. We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to all those who have been and who continue to be affected by these tragic events.”

Simon Halle‑Smith, Head of Global Human Resources and EHS at Givaudan

According to the preliminary situation report published by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the earthquakes have affected communities across at least seven states, with La Guaira remaining the most affected area. The disaster has resulted in the loss of at least 5,300 lives and injuries to more than 16,700 people. It has also caused widespread destruction of homes and businesses, severe damage to hospitals and critical infrastructure, and the displacement of more than 17,900 people who lost their homes.

Givaudan’s Humanitarian Fund was launched in December 2024 with a donation of CHF 100,000 to support flood-hit communities in Valencia, Spain. It builds on a legacy of donation and is aligned to Givaudan’s ambition to improve the lives of millions of people in the communities where the Company sources and operates by 2030. To date the fund has provided a total of CHF 650,000 to support communities around the world dealing with the impacts of disasters such as earthquakes, cyclones and flooding.
