Exploring the future of food at IFT 2017

United by a passion for food science and technology, around 20,000 experts gather each year for the Institute of Food Technologists’ (IFT) annual meeting and exposition in the United States. From sensory science to sustainability, a wide range of topics are on the menu for the 2017 event. Givaudan will be serving up some new flavour-related insights in a technical research presentation, and introducing a range of exciting new taste innovations at our booth.

Education and innovation

Taking place in Las Vegas from 25 to 28 June, IFT17 comprises three days of powerful presentations, engaging panel discussions and lively debates. Over 1,000 companies will also be showcasing their latest products and innovations, and bringing attendees up-to-date on the latest trends.

Natural flavours

In early 2017, Givaudan announced the acquisition of Activ International, a Swiss flavour company with leading capabilities in natural meat, sea food and vegetable flavours. At our IFT17 booth, the US Activ team will be featuring a super grill flavour, as well as organic savoury beef and chicken broth flavours. Both Activ and Givaudan team members will be on hand to talk visitors through the latest developments.

Givaudan takes the stage

Givaudan Platform Manager Guillaume will be giving a presentation at IFT17 on flavour modification and new research into mouthfeel in beverages. This is a topic of great interest to product developers of dairy and high protein beverages who wish to reduce sugar, salt and fat in products to meet consumers’ demand for healthier products that still taste great.

Scheduled for 28 June, Guillaume’s analysis will cover Givaudan’s approach to this sort of challenge and share inspiring insights into our research efforts and the solutions we have developed.
